Dr Marco Esposito is Managing Director at cosine. Marco is Managing Director of cosine Remote Sensing, overseeing both the Dutch headquarters and the Italian branch, where he leads business growth, strategic positioning, industrial scale-up, and the execution of key institutional and defense programs. With a PhD in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Naples and prior experience at the Italian National Research Council and ESA/ESTEC, he combines deep technical expertise with executive leadership across the full value chain of advanced remote sensing systems.

At cosine, Marco has played a central role in transforming the company’s remote sensing activities into a scalable and strategically positioned business, leading teams across engineering, programs, operations, and commercialization. He has driven the development and market introduction of advanced miniaturized optical payloads for Earth Observation, while also overseeing the expansion of production capabilities for next-generation smart EO instruments. A major part of his current focus is the development of sovereign Earth Observation capabilities for defense and security applications. In this context, Marco leads initiatives aimed at delivering national EO observation capabilities for the Ministry of Defense, supporting the creation of strategically relevant space assets and industrial capabilities in Europe.
