Adachi Electric Company, Inc., a US-based startup with technology invented in Japan, has developed an advanced gallium arsenide (GaAs) solar cell for satellites, drones, IoT, and defense systems. Our solar cells achieve 32.49% efficiency with broad spectral coverage (350–2000 nm), including infrared and near-infrared capture, delivering superior performance.

Our lightweight compound cells provide 50-year mission durability at a competitive $/Watt, maintaining stable output from –45°C to +85°C in low-light, high-radiation conditions. This enables longer satellite lifetimes, reduced launch mass, and reliable power for space and defense missions, including military wearables where power-to-weight ratio is critical. For drones, our 30 cm² cell is expected to extend flight times in harsh conditions. For IoT, our 1 cm² cell delivers 1.6–2.0V in ambient light, enabling battery-free sensors that connect directly to satellites.
