Adachi Electric Company, Inc., a U.S.-based startup with patented technology invented in Japan, has developed an advanced gallium arsenide (GaAs) solar cell for terrestrial and space-optimized applications including HAPS, satellites, and ISR IoT. Our solar cells achieve 32.49% AM1.5G efficiency with broad spectral coverage (350–2000 nm), including visible and near-infrared capture, delivering superior performance. Designed for compatibility with existing III-V semiconductor manufacturing infrastructure. Our lightweight compound cells provide mission durability at a competitive $/Watt while maintaining stable output from –45°C to +85°C in low-light, high-radiation environments. This enables longer HAPS, satellite lifetimes, reduced launch mass, and reliable power for space and defense missions. For HAPS platform, our 30 cm² cell is expected to extend flight times and reduce surface area. For intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance IoT, our 1 cm² cell delivers 1.6–2.0V in ambient light, enabling battery-free sensors for distributed ISR IoT networks with satellite connectivity.
