NLR – ROYAL NETHERLANDS AEROSPACE CENTRE

Royal NLR is an independent aerospace R&D centre, founded in 1919 in the Netherlands with more than 1000 staff and activities worldwide. NLR supports the development of small satellite systems, enabling faster, more affordable access to space. We contribute across the full development chain — from early concepts to prototype production of launcher structures, satellite components, and sensors. Our capabilities span phased array antennas, advanced thermal management systems (including mechanically pumped solutions), avionics and innovative concepts such as VLEO satellites and Space Traffic Management. Royal NLR is renowned for its practical approach and ability to translate innovation into validated solutions. We support industry and government by developing and testing hardware and software using our extensive state-of-the-art test facilities, including environmental, structural, and flight testing. Our research for space technology is conducted from seven space domains: communication, navigation, earth observation, space traffic management, satellites and launch vehicles, science and exploration and in-orbit activities.
